This is a service where all of your servers with all the software you need are hosted by either an individual or a company off-site. We have looked into this service for the library.
It makes it easier to keep software updated and saves money. This also allows for less upkeep by the library backups, updates, etc. would be done offsite by the host.

Does the library think SaaS is a good idea? Is it expensive?
They're looking into it. I guess it would save money and time in the long run since all backups and upgrades would be done by whoever our host is.
