This was alot of fun! I think I liked You Tube the best out of all the exercises. You can find almost anything on there. I also liked blogging about my search for a soft coated wheaten terrier and all the frustrations I went thru looking for one. It really helped putting it out there. And then I found her and just had to let everyone know how great she is.
My least favorite was the podcasts unless its music I don't think I would use this very often!
The library needs to move forward with much of the Web 2.0 features. I especiall thing RSS feeds would be welcomed by all our customers.

I've used this site a few times already, works good. Only problem I've come across is the titles I wanted were already taken and I had to wait for them.

Visited the Library Success wiki, very interesting. Seems like a wiki is kind of like our OceanNet, but a little more organized. I really liked our article in Wikipedia.

This is great for looking up hard to find titles and finding out what libraries own. I looked up one of my titles and the closest library that owned it was Swarthmore College Library, Swarthmore PA wherever that is.
I do think this would help our customers/staff in filling out the Request for Materials form. At least then we might get the correct title and ISBN!

NetLibrary is easy to use. I've used it in the past to find books for information I was looking for. I'm also the one who downloads all the NetLibrary titles into our database!

I started my "catalog" on library thing very interesting. Maybe now I won't read the same book twice! Of course the Stephen King books were very popular, the others not so much, but thats ok I enjoyed reading them.

SaaS- Software as a Service:

This is a service where all of your servers with all the software you need are hosted by either an individual or a company off-site. We have looked into this service for the library.
It makes it easier to keep software updated and saves money. This also allows for less upkeep by the library backups, updates, etc. would be done offsite by the host.

Here she is! Her name is Taffy and she's a S'Wheatie! 15 months old and what a personality. Will keep you all posted on how we do, but I just know we'll be best of friends.

I found Bloglines to be the easiest way to find feeds. I found alot of feeds to help with training my new dog. Also found some good ones for gardening! This is fun!

The day after my "adventure" with the Breeders Association of America I decided to get in touch with some "reputable" Wheaten breeders for information or direction on where to go. One of the breeders from north Jersey was listed in red, which means they have puppies or are expecting a litter, so I sent an email off and got a reply back saying he had none available but to contact breeders in PA. With that I noticed a breeder in Stafford Township so I composed an email telling how I tried to rescue one and have been looking for a few months now and since they lived so close thought maybe they could steer me in the right direction. Less than 15 minutes later I received a response giving their phone number and to give them a call. I did and to my surprise they have a 13 month old rescue, haven't even started looking for a home for her yet but because I lived so close decided to get in touch with me. They've had her since December, she recently had surgery on her knee for Patella (condition where the knee dislocates) and after she recovers will be just fine. She's very sweet and loves everyone. I have to call her after Easter and we will set up a time to meet. I'm very excited and can't wait. Her name is Taffy!

Received an email saying they had many applications and would keep me in the loop (whatever that means). In the meantime I'm going to keep looking so this past Saturday went out shopping with a friend and stopped at a place on Route 70, the sign just said Puppies, found out it was the Breeders Association of America. They actually had a Wheaten Terrier puppy!! A female 11 wks old. They put us in a small fenced in area with the puppy to "get acquainted" asked a bunch of questions, gave me some toys to play with and walked away. Did some playing, but the puppy wasn't very responsive. When the girl came back, I asked the price and she told me twenty six fourty two. I thought to myself $26.42 no way, then realized she meant $2,642.00 and was flabbergasted! Told her I never ever saw a Wheaten for that much even from reputable show breeders. Of course we went back and forth and before I left the price was $800 plus shipping, tax etc. bringing it up to $1,000. I told her I would think about it and left.

Well, I filled out the adoption application (3 pages long), and called my vet to let them know they may get a phone call inquiring about me. The next day a receive an email saying I was approved and to email back with the days I am available to meet Percy. I quickly sent an email back saying "I can be available anytime and was looking foward to meeting him".

The beginning of my Wheaten Terrier search

A few months ago I finally decided to start looking to adopt a dog. It's been a year and a half since Duke passed away, so I guess it's time! Duke was my best friend, a gentle and loving giant. He was a little over 10 years old, 176 lb Great Dane, full of love and completely devoted to me. I thought about getting another Dane, but because of the short life span (8-10 yrs), and the large size, (it was hard getting him up when he could no longer do it on his own) I think I've decided to look for another breed and fell in love with the Soft coated Wheaten Terrier.
So, my search will begin here.
I went online searching for adoptable Wheaties and finally (it is hard to find one that isn't a puppy) found one at Eleventh Hour Rescue in Rockaway NJ (most are out in the western part of the US).
My photo experience for oclwebthings was great!

As you can probably tell, I like animals. I currently have 2 cats, a Maine Coon named Missy Gray, and a Calico named Dot. I'm looking for a Wheaton Terrier, but would prefer not to get a puppy since I'm not home all day to train it. If anyone knows or hears of one, maybe 1-2 years of age, let me know.

My hardest would be #7 I can teach, but don't consider myself a good teacher since I'm a little impatient.
